I've taken some lessons and am now between teachers. I am probably a low intermediate player and am using Carl Humphries' Piano Handbook which is terrific, until I line up another teacher.
In the meantime, I'd like to add a couple of good books on preludes and etudes to also use. Anyone have any suggestions? confused

Very nice CNN appearance, P*D! I noticed that some of your remarks were geared towards a more expansive discussion of the topic, and I wish some of these networks would take the time to have those discussions, but you did the best you could with the time you had. smile

I'm surprised that Obama wants to follow what seems to be the early days of NchildLB with, perhaps, NcollegeLB. I mean, I know they're both spelled NCLB, but come on... grin

The other speaker did a nice job of illuminating the post-effects of such strapping debt, and brought up a far more important issue (EDIT: than the one Obama is "worried" about): the ever-rising interest on the loans. At 6.8% over 10 years, you pay back almost 3x more in interest than what students paid just 8 years ago when interest rates were 2.8%.

So, colleges may keep their price tag low -- but the end cost to the student/consumer is still much higher (to paraphrase something I think you said early on).
