So my teacher today showed me the pentatonic blues scale and had me improv to some stuff he was doing!! it was a super blast! We were literally just going and jamming together, it was so fun! Anyone else here really into improv??? Its expression at its finest!

"Doesn't practicing on the piano suck?!?!"
"The joy is in the practicing. It's like relationships. Yeah, orgasms are awesome, but you can't make love to someone who you have no relationship with!"

Ya, it's fun - though I wish I had a better handle on the coordination for spontaneous HT improv. Here's a fun Dave Frank video if you haven't already seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjJVSQz1eK4

I love improvisation. It's a vastly undervalued skill, which most lack. It promotes creativity and comfortability with the instrument, and it's a highly fun and instructive activity.
