I've been writing a series of blog posts about what I learned over the last year of looking for (and finally selecting) a new piano.

Hope this is helpful for anyone doing the same

Hi Mark,

Helpful and interesting comments indeed on your blog.

A hint that I found by reading in between the lines that is perhaps less explicit is the importance of finding the right dealer.

I assume you would never have acquired your Steingraeber without Hurstwood Pianos, e.g. without the technician having made the necessary regulation adjustments for you in the showroom?
As in many European countries piano owners highly depend on their dealer too for post delivery technical service as often few competent independent paino technicians are around.

Hi schwammerl,

Glad it was helpful. Thanks.

The idea of finding of the "right dealer "that you mention. That was exactly my experience - the sum of (1) dealer, (2) piano, and (3) technician was the exact "right" combination.

Insightful comment, Mark.

I watched your videos that you posted as well. I assume you are playing the "one" on them, but the angle is deceiving. This looks smaller than a 205 to me. Is this the piano you chose?
