Hello, is there anyone here who has had a Hailun upright piano (H-5P or HL-125) for more than four years?

All reviews seem to universally agree that the pianos are value for money, but that the only uncertainty is how long they will last and whether their quality will rapidly deteriorate with regular use.

So, since these models have been around for a few years now, I would like to know the experience of people who have had this brand of piano for about 4 years. Has the sound lost its lustre? Have keys turned sticky? Is the piano all out of tune? Any other major problems?

Or have the pianos managed to stay in good shape?
Thank you.

We have had several at colleges for almost 4 years and they are very stable. As felts compress in the initial break-in phase, routine normal regulation must be administered no matter what the brand, and so the same goes for Hailun. Anoka College in the Twin Cities has 5 or 6 and we have not had to do anything for at least 2 years except tune. Luther College in Dacorah, IA has 4 (I think) and they too have settled in nicely. Ryan Mix is the technician on staff there and I have not talked to him in a while. In terms of tuning stability, the Hailuns seem to be exceptionally stable--more so than other pianos. Technicians have reported this at The Blake School (Yefim Greenberg, technician), Anoka College (Jason Rupert, technician), and Luther College, off the top of my head.

Although these institutions have had these pianos for a few months shy of 4 years, and in the case of The Blake School, 2 years, I hope this helps. Bear in mind that these pianos have been used harder than home pianos and have been played on for 12 hours a day.

Our experience with Grands has been similar, only these pianos have been used in worship, studio, and concert settings as well.

Oh, I forgot; Jason maintains a model 121 that is used by a teacher here with about 50 or so students. She loves it, has had it for about 5 years, and has had the same experience.
