Gwyn, go to My Profile, Edit Profile, and uncheck 'Enable other users to see my rating' or some there. It just hides it, which is the same thing.

Hi Gwyn,

I just wanted to let you know that after seeing you mention your discomfort with the ratings system I gave you 5 stars (and I own and Estonia). You deserve it just for having the courage to be honest.

Yes, I did too! \:\) I tried to click the rating thing more than once for you but it would only let me rate you once \:\( . It didn't give you any stars when I first did it but I am so glad to see you have a big wad of stars now! Anyone who starts a thread that turns into a 2 pager+ deserves all their stars. And to have 2 threads in your honor, now that's something that deserves a football crowd-size cheer!!!
I do really have a great deal of respect for those who write the computer programs with these neat little things for computer-illerates like me so I hope they don't mind too much all the fun we've had over the rating stuff at their expense. The topic has been a lot of fun!

Hey look, super*hunky! You got your stars back!!! Me, on the other hand, I'm hovering right at 3.67, so all I need is a couple more people to give me 1's and I'll lose mine...

WOWEE \:D \:D I got my stars back!! YEA!!!.

Yea Monica, this "rating system" is acurate, huh??

I use some idiotic user name ,post a bunch of moronic topics and replies and have my 4-star rating back, while you post actual interesting factual data, reply courtiously to everyone and seem to have a positive outlook towards all. Yet, at 3.67, barelly hanging on as you say.

I would really love to know who "stung" you and "why"!

We all share a common love and interest for the piano. Why must we rank or "rate" each other?. This is total B.S!

I personally like interacting with all of my forum friends, and it is the differences among us that keeps it very interesting. If we all had the same vanilla opinions, this forum would die a very quick death of excruciating BOREDOM!!

"Stars" are what 6-year olds get on their drawings which they hang on the refrigerator; not sure why adults are using them!

It would be unfair for me to discredit this stupid star system, yet still have my "STAR-BAR" on. So in protest, I am turning this silly, sophmoric thing off!!

Anyone care to join me?

I turned mine off a long time ago. I think they are silly but if folks want to count stars, go for it. I never even considered 'rating' anyone and I even own one of those tinny old wet (or is it dry) Yamaha's and love it. It makes me happy that other folks love their pianos and I feel their frustration when they don't.

Oh, I was hoping you would keep them on because they remind me of you and all the fun the thread has been discrediting the star rating \:\( Actually I noticed all of you who have them turned off now, the l.h. corner of your posts do look a little empty.
I actually was already planning to turn mine off also but since everyone went to all that trouble helping me get them, I'd leave them up for a little while out of respect for the people who inconvenienced a few seconds of their time to give them to me.
I did notice earlier today that I am no longer a jr. member that I mentioned in my post on "the other star thread". I'm now a full member . . . does that mean "full from supper" or "full of it" . . . just kidding and apologies to the creator of the system, I do really appreciate all the work you do.
