Chris,

We maintain an email list of the group and send out specific address information for each party via the email list. There's a reluctance by many folks to have their addresses posted on websites! Shoot me a note or give me a call and I will add you to the mailing list. My cell number is 214 770-7051.

The Dallas Piano Group was the first to form and has been meeting since around 1998 or so. Our early reports on the forum caused others to form their own regional groups. We have an interesting mix of folks from adult beginners up to people who have competed in the Amateur Van Cliburn.

Feel free to give my email address to your other piano-playing friends. We are always delighted to welcome new piano nuts to the group!

Cork,

It is good to hear that you guys are still chugging along as a group. It has become customary to post photos after a gathering - and I haven't seen any from the Dallas contingent for a long time. (hint, hint) wink smile

Certainly one of our oldest groups.

Cork shows up in these "nostalgia" posts too:

Hi Cork. Remember me? We had one of the first gatherings at my house in Frico around 1999 when i first got my Petrof IV. some of the attendees were you (and your wife), Patti, Alex, and another couple whose name i forgot. I'll try to find / send some pics from that gathering.

i just signed up on the DFW Piano facebook so hope to see you guys at an upcoming gathering. We moved to plano (about 9 years ago) so may host. (promise not to serve bad wine).

EDIT: actually i found a few of the pics on this forum at this link:

My mom is interested in taking me, but there is one question. Adults only?

Is the Dallas group still up and running? My husband and I would be interested in attending and would even consider hosting if the group is not too large.

I don't know anything at all about a Yahoo-based group, so I assume they're separate. The party is scheduled for Sun., Nov. 3, at 6:30 p.m. in Carrollton. E-mail me at Annitenth@aol.com if you're interested.

Yes, it is completely separate. But some of the members of that group, including myself, plan on attending this group, too.

Surprisingly! It’s like you understand my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some images to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is wonderful forum. A good read. I’ll certainly be back.
