Hello,
I own the stage piano Kawai MP6 and I want to record my piano playing with a video camera. I want to record the piano keys directly from up so I need some stand where I can place the video camera.

The stand has to be at least 2 meters high from the floor and there has to be an arm at the top of the stand which I can set to horizontal position and that arm has to be at least 40 centimeters long (so something similar to microphone stands). At the end of the arm I want to place my video camera so it can capture me directly from up. Unfortunately, I cannot imagine how to place the camera to the end of the arm so it will be in a stable position, any ideas?

Can you recommend me some stable stand which meets the mentioned requirements?

Thanks in advance.

What type of video camera will you be using? How much does it weigh?

I currently own Pentax K-x and it weighs 500 grams.

But I look for some generic solution, so I will be able to attach different video cameras to that stand (I hope it is possible).

We do something similar to this all the time as my wife is a tutor and she tutors some of her students via skype. We have a regular mic stand with a boom arm. We use a microsoft lifecam that is plenty good enough for skype. I have one of those spring clip mic holders that look sort of like a black chip clip. I clip the microsoft lifecam to the mic clip and position the arm of the boom over a white board where she tutors kids in math by being able to write formulas on the white board with a marker. Works like a charm.

Take a look in the Adult Beginners Forum. There are two current threads on this subject, one of which has photos which could be of help.
