Hi!

Here is a video of a performance of my new piano concerto:



Being a pianist, it has always been a dream to compose a piano concerto. (It is not me playing, however). I wanted to compose a concerto in a unique harmonic language, and with a expression and formal plan of a grand "romantic" style. The concerto is inspired by many great romantic works, modernist composers like Ligeti, Messiaen, and more.

Hi and welcome!

First of all GREAT WORK overall! The fact that you mention Ligeti, Messiaen and your pianist is Greek is enough for me to like it (even without listening it yet! :D)

The second part in your video (the one with the more rhythmic stuff) works brilliantly! The whole thing does, but I, personally, liked that part best!

Very very well done!

Hi, kdjupdal! And welcome to the Forum! Thanks for the sampling of your Piano Concerto. Personally, I liked your orchestral textures the best; I liked the prominence of the winds against the piano with the judicious use of strings. Because these were only excerpts, it's hard to tell the overall impact, but I agree with Nikolas that the rhythmic 2nd Movement seemed the most interesting to my ear. Thanks for sharing this!
