In 1867 Tyndall delivered Sound: A Course of Eight Lectures at The Royal Institution in London. It's a fascinating document to download.

The Steinway's also had the examples set by Erard, Pape, and Chickering regarding the form, detail, and manufacturing techniques of a modern piano.
In a seemingly infinite universe-infinite human creativity is-seemingly possible.
