I have an FP7 that I use for various purposes. I have it connected to a computer to record CDs for friends and family and that all works fine.

I would love to try using some of the software pianos I read about here but I don't have a clue what I need for it.

Is there somewhere that has relatively simple instructions and diagrams to help me get started. i.e.

1. What hardware equipment is required
2. What cables etc. are required
3. What software is required
4. How do you connect it all together
etc.

I'm pretty computer literate so I can probably make it work if I have some kind of a clear reference.

Any suggestions?

Hi Roger,

I had similar questions some time ago and asked for help here on the forums. Take a look at my post for starters. I got some very useful responses that got me running. Especially from MacMacMac - look at his response and links

I just purchased my first software piano end of August- Addictive Keys- it is $29 from $179 right now at MF and gets great reviews. It includes a Steinway D, Yamaha U3 and a Mark II (think that is the Rhodes it comes with)

You can edit microphones, etc and various parameters.
I am having a lot of fun with it hooked up to my Roland Juno Gi which does both midi out and audio in (it has the audio interface built in)

I love it! That looks like something I can do fairly easily, there is even a stereo system right next to the keyboard.

That's what I was looking for, thanks.

Possum, thanks for the recommendation. That's not too expensive for me to get started with. I was hoping for that until I see if I even want to pursue the whole thing.

I'm still quite new to this. I first looked at the Pianoteq tutorial vid
http://www.pianoteq.com/tutorials?play=tutorial3
you can also get a free demo to experiment from there.
Another with a free demo is Pianissimo
http://www.acoustica.com/pianissimo/download.htm
This one is time limited.

You can experiment with those 2 for free. I didn't particularly like the sound of either of these though. The first I bought was True Keys Italian Grand which sounds much better to me but has no free demo to try it and requires an ilok dongle.
