Hello all.

I am new to this forum. My name is Julie Code. I am 31 years old and have played piano since middle school. Piano is my passion in life.. What I love doing is composing piano music! I have some of my compositions on truepianotranscriptions.com but I will be releasing an album soon. It's sound is from a studio in the United Kingdom with a Spitfire grand piano from spitfire audio.

My question is, I'm just starting out but have been composing music for 3 years. I want to know what is a good way to get my music "out there?" I am planning on putting it on CDbaby.com and iTunes etc. Is there any other ideas you guys might have in mind?

This is a very unique album that is coming out. My friend Scott from the UK is collaborating with me adding strings, drums etc to my compositions. My album should be done soon. Thanks so much!!

Julie Code

Hey Julie!

Do you have a soundcloud page or even a myspace. It wouldn't be a bad idea to also add those links to your signature on this forum and other forums that you might be a member of.

What kind of music is it? Is it music that is to be listened to, or music that can work as background music. If it can work as background music, maybe you can consider contacting local cafes - asking them if they would be interested in supporting local business/artists.

Hi Julie,

YouTube and social media are your friends. They are a great way to market music these days. Be active on Facebook, Twitter, etc., encourage your friends to 'like' and 'share' your postings, and work relentlessly to build a growing network of followers.
