I've got a Roland HP507 in the Satin Black edition, which my housemate's cat unfortunately left some scratches in. I've searched around, but never really arrived at a conclusion as to what the best method is to remove scratches on this type of piano. The scratches don't feel like they're into the wood itself, but rather the layer on top (lacquer? -Not really sure what the layer is called on mine). Hopefully the pictures I've attached show the scratches well enough.

So, anyone know what the best method and material is to remove scratches on my piano?

Thanks

It depends on what the finish is. Contact a furniture store and ask their touch-up specialist.

I would contact Roland's technical support to find out what the finish is made from.

Sent an email off to Roland. I'll post the answer when it comes in.

"Your HP-507 has a simulated satin finish which is essentially an adhesive vinyl laminate and not paint. We advise that you do not try to treat the scratches as this may lead to further irreparable damage.

We are sorry to have to report this to you."

Looks like I'll have to stick with the scratches.

You might be able to use a vinyl repair kit, which you can get at an auto parts store.

I'll look into it. I'll try it in an inconspicuous spot initially, of course, and I'll upload the final results.
