How do people rate the Rockschool popular piano and keyboard grades?

I am looking for a contemporary music based graded course.

What others are available?

Thanks in advance.

There's Urock run by Peter Friesen in Canada but I can't for the life of me find his website just now. He is pete the bean here, you could PM him.

I found Rockschool. Peter Friesen seems to be a guitarist who has put out some graded material. He's Canadian as you say TLT. Rockschool seems to be operating out of the UK. Any relationship anyway?

No that's a different Peter Friesen. The Peter I know also wrote Take the Lead 1 and 2.

Rockschool is British. I do have some of their material. They have a solo piano syllabus and a band based keys syllabus that only goes to grade 5. The material is sound, however the organisation is very guitar-based - nothing wrong with that, but if you look at the elementary books, the staves are tiny with huge spaces where the tab should be..... Doesn't make it easy to read.

There is a similar syllabus now from Trinity in their Rock and Pop syllabus which is based on the actual copyright songs, rather than the sound-alikes in Rockschool.
I am a competent teacher.
