Hello smile

Please guys check my Youtube channel:
www.youtube.com/douglasrj21

And rate my performances.

I'd like to know what you guys think about them and also what I can be improving.

What do you recommend for me?

I know I have a lot to learn.
All feedback will be welcome.

Best regards,

Douglas Ponciano

Well, I'd say it sounds like very good beginner-type playing.

If you want more detail, we can give it. As for recommendations, the main one I'd make is one that I sometimes criticize when it gets said, because people don't necessarily want to do it or aren't in a position to do it: Consider working with a teacher. I think it would be hard to advance to a different stage without that.

I agree with Mark's assessment. I can see some good things going on, and some not-so-great ones. But the not-so-great ones could also be a result of playing on the keyboard you are using.

If you can't invest in a teacher, I would at least recommend investing in a better keyboard. And, by better, I mean at least something with weighted keys. Still not as good as an acoustic, but much better than unweighted/spring-loaded keys.

I agree with what has already been said.

Here's my specific perspective: If I have a student come to lessons with his pieces where you have them, I'm happy because he's done good preparation and has learned the notes well. Then we'd have some things to work on, specifically articulation, voicing, and dynamic control.

It is true that your instrument will be hampering your progress. But we all work with what we can afford.

I think you hit on all the main things but one: Rhythm!

Rhythm is awfully important. smile
I'd say it's literally the most important aspect of music in general, especially so in a piece like this. It's also one of the main aspects that separates players of different levels, and one of the most fun things to work on. "Funiculi Funicula" lives mainly on its strong rhythm, and the playing here just isn't doing it and isn't having the right kind of fun with it.
