For the Yamaha PG-625 and 35 ... I know you can add drums with enormous variation. But if you add base and guitar it's not just time. How do you get the changes into it? Program it some how? Or does the machine come with standard tunes? Or do you input changes from software?

I have the DGX 630; I can record an accompaniment, but not vary it by removing or adding instruments from the accompaniment. If all I want is the drums, I have to "play" it live so to speak and record it straight to the computer.

More expensive CVP pianos are more adaptable; So are most of the PSR keyboards. They are quite astonishing for the money. I might even get one myself . . .

These type of arrangers "follow" along with your playing.. this model has a few ways of doing this.. generally though though you play a chord in with your left hand and it uses that chord to build the arrangement..
