I spoke too soon. My E4 is not working. No midi signal to Ivory.
Now why would this one stop working?
My biggest problem was with Bb4.
I really don't feel like taking this apart again right now.

Well…. I came home last night from work.
Was going to work on this, again.
Figured I'd turn it on first. Before getting into making sure that one key will work.
It wouldn't put out any midi info. Tried it with both Ivory and Pianoteq.
I'm confident it's that one connector. Lost connection.
Need to figure out a way to secure that connector.

This is just the result of people doing a half fast job of working on things. That happens a lot here.

For right now I gave up on this. I'm playing my old CDP-100. It ain't too swift compared to my M8000. I have to get in practice. I have lessons every week on Thursday.

I'm also weighing my options. I know my M8000 has never worked the software controls right. Can't change things using the onboard software. Doesn't make sense what it does. Some buttons don't respond. etc.

No way I can get a VPC now. Maybe in a couple months if things work out good with Obamacare. We have a meeting on the 9th. Know this will save my company money. He will also go over pay on the 9th. He is generous at Christmas. So we'll see.

For the time being. I may be stuck with my CDP. I've always wanted a portable DP. Something I can take outdoors and play. I wouldn't subject a VPC to this abuse. I've thought about getting a PX-something. I could stretch that right now. I'm not sure the keys are full size and the fulcrum is anything decent though. That's one thing that throws me with my CDP. Keys slightly undersized and the fulcrum distance is lacking. I'm trying to build on playing without looking at my hands. Just feel where they should go. My teacher says I've been doing excellent in that respect. Also with the full size keys on my M8000… I easily play her old Roland that has correct size keys. Right now I'm thinking to play my CDP this week. Then try to get my M8000 going this weekend. Hopefully I can get it to work long enough until I can manage a VPC. An ES7 is not out of consideration either.
