Hi! I’m new at this forum so I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this, the problem that I have is this, I want one of my students to play in a “Latin Recital” next month, but I have to fill the registration form with the name of the student, age, and the name of the pieces and the level of the pieces, this is my second year as high school teacher and until now I have used the graded pieces lists to fill this forms but I cannot find these pieces in any list, If I choose the wrong level my student will be declassified so I’d like you to help me, the pieces that he is going to play are:
Granada (Fantasía Española) – Agustín Lara
La Comparsa (Carnival Procession) – Ernesto Lecuona
Malagueña – Ernesto Lecuona

My main problem is to find the level of the pieces
Thanks a lot!

Hi - and welcome to answers-R-US. [Linked Image] Just kidding.

Malagueña is definitely in the lower advanced category. I'm not familiar with the other two. I'm assuming they're comparable.

There is no way we can know the grading scale, but as a general observation, on a scale of 1 - 10, this would probably be a 7 or 8. If you can share with us the grading system being used, we can probably be of more help.

Regards,

John

Gerardo:

Use your best judgment to fill out the "levels" in the forms. There's really no right or wrong answer. Just don't write "level 2" for something that is obviously "level 9."

Come as close as possible with your estimation, and that's all that you could do.

After 3 weeks of heavy fog, no rain, no sun, no wind, just really dense fog, 24/7, we finally have sunshine. It really makes for a light-hearted mood
