Found this piece if metal up in our attic. It says Harvard piano Cincinnati O on it. Can anyone tell me what it is.

Looks like the Harvard Piano Company was established in 1885, and died in the great depression (like many other piano manufacturers).

Looks like an upper plate from an older upright. Many of the earlier uprights had an iron plate that stopped just short of the pinblock, and a plate like this was in place above the tuning pins.

Pieces like that were bolted onto the top of generic upright plates to make them look like the entire plate was cast for the company, but in fact, that was the only part that was cast specifically for them.
