Hey guys! This is my first post here, I'm a high school piano student and I teach myself songs by ear. It's not so hard to pick out the actual parts as it is to then make them sound really good. For example, the most recent song I'm playing is "How to Save a Life" by the Fray, and it's not a hard song to learn by ear. It has a very simply right hand with an even simpler left hand. Too simple. Just in general, what are some things you guys do to make the chords more powerful? My right hand is pretty occupied, but my left hand is doing next to nothing - I just can't think of anything for it to do. Hope to hear back soon! Thanks in advance

1. connecting roots and fifths of each chord with walking bass lines

2. using alternative chord voicings with tensions or non-root voicings

3. reharmonizing the chord progression in the left hand to make it more dynamic
