Had it continued all the way to the end with the same lingering steady tempo at the beginning, it would have been a special and different interpretation.
But you reverted back to rubato and I lost my interest from there on.

Hi, Jaak! I pretty much agree with everything you did here -- choice of tempo; shaping of the left hand modulations; the musical line toward the anguished climax; the overall emotional restraint. I'd say the only thing I would do somewhat differently is a firmer right hand attack, so that the B (or C) resonates through the modulations a little more. But, no real "complaints", and thanks for sharing this!
