What happened to Dan? I've been looking at posts from way back and noticed that he was (and still is) a mod. Does anyone know why he left? And why is he still a mod if he's gone?

Different people have different "first pages," according to how they view the site. I don't know what page you mean!

Anyway, the name just isn't familiar. Been here 4 years, don't think I've ever come across him.

P.S. Closest I know to a mod named Dan is BrenDAN. grin

No idea.. looks like he was pretty active in 2005, took a hiatus, couple posts in 2009, then gone. Last login was 2011?

I have no idea who he even is.. you'll need one of the really old guys to answer that one. Maybe Kreisler would know?

Perhaps he could no longer Handel it! But, who knows, maybe he'll come Bach!

How many pianists does it take to change a light bulb?

A million. One to change the bulb, and 999,999 to say how much better they could have done it...whome grin

If you're lost in a desert and you see a good violist and a bad violist walking towards you, which one should you ask for directions?

Actually, twenty. One to change the bulb, nineteen to sit around and think "I can do that."

But you were close enough. grin

How do you get two bagpipes to play a perfect unison?
Shoot one.

although...

What's the definition of a minor second?
Two bagpipes playing in unison.

Back in the olde country I knew several pipers, and thus all the bagpiper jokes!

Only eight. (A bargain - where I work, it takes nine people, because they aren't pianists cry.)

One to find a spare bulb, another to push the pianist (not himself, naturally) off his bench, yet another to carry the bench to the room, one to hold the bench in place, one to get up on it to reach the offending bulb. Then one to turn off the switch before the other got electrocuted.

Finally, one to point out that they're all pianists, and must therefore protect their hands and fingers from all these dangerous activities. And they all go searching for eight non-pianists to do the whole lot from the start.....
