I don't think any of you are friends with me on facebook. Yet, as I would be happy to have you as friends! Today I announced my upcoming piano recital to be held at Seacoast Academy of Music in Centennial Hall, North Hampton, NH on Saturday March 22nd at 3pm.

I will be playing the majority of the recital. There will be two other performers so that I don't have to prepare a full hour of music. Friends and family are invited. And that includes anyone on Piano World close enough to attend. I will be playing Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, and Mozart.

This is my first recital ever performing multiple works. I'm excited and already scared out of my gourd!!! I don't even know which Bach piece yet. My teacher will be picking it out.

My music is very important to me. I look forward to sharing it with others. Directions to Centennial Hall can be found on the website of Seacoast Academy of Music where I study.

Oh, this is so cool! I'm a little far away for attending, but I'd love to hear your pieces. I hope it's a wonderful experience for you! I love hearing people I know play - community music, that's my deal. A real treat.

Wish I lived closer. Sounds like a great line up of composers. And lots of work for you to get ready! Good luck with the prep and the performance.

That's very cool - sorry I can't come. So what are the specific pieces?

1st, 2nd, 3rd movements of Beethoven Piano Sonata Op 2 no 1. Chopin Ab Major Nocturne Op 32 no 2., Mozart 40 Sympthony transcribed for four hand piano, and Bach Prelude and Fugue yet to be determined. Something from Schumann Kindersensen as encore.

Why not the 4th movement? It's a little strange to perform three movements of a four-movement sonata.

Well, I'm supposed to be starting to learn the 4th movement. This week was horrid for finding serious practice time. So, I've not even looked at it yet. I sort of agree that it's strange only playing the first three movements. My teacher is doing most of the planning of what I'm playing. So, if she's fine with it, I will be too.

I'm just beginning to realize that I have a lot of music to learn for March. But, that was the only time my sister could come and play the duet with me. So, I'd best just get to sitting at the piano and get to work!!!

Change of plans. I've been dealing with a case of chronic plantar fasciitis now for years. Well, over time, the pain in my feet has changed how I walk. I've developed some serious back issues. I'm barely playing each day let alone practicing. So, the March recital is off. Could be I was putting too much stress on myself too to pull together a recital of this scope. My teacher is fine with it not happening. So, I'm going to take my cue from her.

I'm lining up doctors to see what I can do to help resolve these problem areas. Special orthotics and shoes, stretching, and night braces have not been enough to quell the plantar fasciitis. Next up is cortizone shots. YUCK!!!

I don't know if there is a chance I will re-joint the Tchaikovsky themed recital or not. Lesson today was on the light side. We're going to scale back demands on me for a bit. Hopefully, my back willl settle down soon.
