Great video

http://www.openculture.com/2013/02/the_g...bius_strip.html

Years ago I read Goedel, Escher, Bach but really didn't get much out of the Bach part (that was before my life as an adult beginner). In any case, this animation does a great job illustrating the underlying structure. A Moebius strip? Give me a break!

Hope this hasn't been posted here before.

It has been posted before, more than once. But it deserves another thread. grin

I love this, and always fun to see it again. I'm glad you found it, and thanks for posting.

Crab/p, I should have known smile Why didn't I find it when searching?

BTW is this in Eb major? What is this upside down question mark clef and that extra large 'sharp sign' in the beginning?

It's in C minor, and the weird notation is the shorthand Bach uses instead of writing out the whole realization, which can be viewed here.

Thank you, Polyphonist. So the first note (in the video) is a C? I thought it's the treble clef and then the first note would be an E (but the flats would be wrong), right? And doesn't the first note often decide whether it's the major or its parallel minor? Sorry I'm confused ...
