Hello!
I just got a new piece (a lead sheet) from my teacher and I need help with a chord.
The melody is a G major (D G B) and above whe melody is a Fmaj7#11 and right under the Fmaj7#11 there is a G/F. Which chord should I play?
Hope you understand my question. smile

They're very similar chords in the context of the melody. The Fma7#11 is 'jazzier' and a lot depends on the voicing. I'd say you can take your pick.

The G/F you know. An example open voicing of the +11 chord might be (reading up from the LH bass 'F')

I think if I saw a lead sheet that gave an option of Fmaj7#11 or G/F, I'd be very tempted to try an Em/F (Fmaj7#11 without the 3rd and 5th), and see how it sounds. Or maybe a Em7/F, which basically makes it a G/F with the 7th of the F, but not the 3rd or 5th.

Jag får bara upp en tom sida.

Det är som ett par har svarat, lite lika mellan de två olika ackorden. Men soundet skiljer . . .
Du får helt enkelt prova och välja den du tycker bäst funkar.
