Hi,

Does anybody know where a u1 yamaha with serial number G 1812726 is made and how old is it

Is better than a yamaha U2 made in Japan

It's from Japan and made in the first half of 1974. That's indeed quite old for a U1.
A U2 made in Japan could be better, could also be worse wink As long as it's not played by Bono I'm okay with it.

The U2 is a taller model than the U1 with equivalent quality. It was not sold in the US market, so the only ones I've seen were gray market imports from Japan.
