It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Thanks, S & W, Ron and Kenjazz for your nice comments. So glad you enjoyed my pieces.
Ron: LOL ...you had me in stitches and your comments brought back more memories of the song.
Kenjazz: I found the Chipmunk Song in a Dan Coates easy piano collection. Had to play it as I'm a big baby at heart, I love chipmunks and it brought back so many memories.
LadyPayne: Your I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS was so lovely. I could see myself sitting in a piano lounge on a cruise ship enjoying champagne watching and listening to you while the ship sailed on.
I "arranged" the same song last year but it's no where as good as yours. By arranging, I mean I took parts of a song I liked and put them together. It's not an original arrangement like yours and not with your flair for it, either :
Roger: Loved your O Holy night song. Very beautiful.
Mr SH: Loved your rendition of We Three Kings. Very cool!
I am currently uploading all of my written piano sheets onto my blog to make things easier. I also have written out a few more sheets. All free check it out if you want Any questions, PM me
MR. SH: I really enjoyed your rendition of "We 3 Kings".. great arrangement & playing with a hypnotic rhythmic pulse. Thanks for starting this great thread. It's snowing here in NY now, so finally have time to listen to all the wonderful holiday recordings here and am really enjoying them.
Ha! The only ones I can play are Elssa`s and Candlelihgt Piano . . "Box" has fallen out wi me!
Elssa - O Holy Night - I`ve heard this a few times this year. A great song; you make nice job of it.
Candlelightpiano - Alvin and the chipmunks Remember well! Great playing here with much fluidity.
I`ll be home . . Atmospheric playing of what sounds like a difficult-in -places song. Bit of jazz creeping in here; Root it out, lass or it`ll get a hold on ya!
Casio PX-5S. Garritan CFX, Production Grand 2 Gold, Concert Grand LE, AcousticSamples C7, some Sampletekks. Pianoteq 8 Std (Blüthner, SteinGraeber, NY/HB Steinway D).
I know I'll regret this and later be embarrassed. I'm not going to get a better recording than my last practice due to a slight injury (sprain) so this Box wave is the best I can offer for this holiday thread and it's slow, bumpy and ugly but here it is warts and all Said I wouldn't post any crappy songs, I think with another week I could have this, that is if I could practice
I hate technology!!!! It just sits there, It's a big (26mg) file so maybe it just takes a while to load. I can't convert it to a mp3 cause all the free sites I used say I'm over my limit for conversion. LMK if you can't play it and I'll try something else.

Loved it, Ragdoll! We still have snow on the ground here in Santa Fe, tho it's going the way of the dodo finally. I play a simplified version of this when I manage to do any holiday tunes at all. One of these days I'll have a repertoire of holiday tunes, instead of having to read them all, or just skipping them like I have this year. This was pretty cheerful

Perhaps "more music" is always the answer, no matter what the question might be! - Qwerty53

Yah, snow on the ground on top of ice is what caused my sprain. It's not too bad but hurts on my palm when stretching for octaves. Thanks for the kind words Cathy.

Very nicely done Ragdoll. I'm sure it will also improve with age.
Thanks JimF, it will get better but the holiday season may be over before I can do it justice, that's why I posted what I had. It's a nice enough song to keep in rotation for Christmastime next year. I guess I'll have to keep up my MOYD with one handed playing for awhile.

Jazzwee Loved the first two songs. Good trio you work with. Too much fun was had by all . . the second was full o` Christmas pud and exhuded bonhomie. Kids in bed? The third I couldn`t access.
Kenjazz Loved the blend, cracked bell et al; very appealing (!) and laid back!
Dannac An Olde English favourite. Good 6-8 tempo with good variations between verses. Well done!
StringsandWood Drummer boy; steady and precise. Augurs well for your next submission! Good to hear and a super sounding piano.
nraple Henry 8 did something right . . a popular choice tonight! And why not? Steady as she blows. And your keyboard sounded terrific.
RogerRansom O Holy night. One I missed . . .damn!
MrSuperhunky This was a terrific arrangement of something I was definitely not expecting; a film score? Variety of range and playing was exemplary; Enigmatic! Just too good, man.
Ragdoll It was a big download. I`ve had trouble with Box; they want me to register. Don`t decry your efforts. You play considerably less wrong notes than I ever do. I heard only one . . The speed and fluency is round the corner and will certainly come!

Thanks peterws, yes it will... I only had about 2 weeks with this before I over stretched my fingers trying to keep from falling on the ice. I just hope I can get back to HT practice soon.
AFA less wrong notes than you, I dare say your pieces are much more challenging `eh?.
