#2201408 - 12/22/13 02:02 PM Unofficial "Dibs" thread for Chopin Nocturne Recital

Original title of thread: "Chopin Nocturne Recital Threat ETA?"- changed to reflect progression of thread.

Original message:

In the Chopin Mazurka Recital thread, it was mentioned that today would be the day that the Chopin Nocturne Recital thread would be started.

Is there any indication of what time that would be posted? I'd rather not sit at my computer all day to be assured that I get the Nocturne I would like to perform.

Thanks! (Said he, who logged in at 12:01 a.m. just to check...

...and who would sure like to perform Op 32 #1.)

Darn, I was hoping this was it! I too am checking in often. It would be nice to have an estimated time of arrival.

It looks like there could be a stampede. I'm disadvantaged here since I shall shortly be leaving on a 15 hour journey and will be without any means of contact.

What to do?

Same here....look, the rights to recital planning ownership aren't established...and sure, it's about as official as a pirate copy of Das Boot, but couldn't people just start presenting their preferences here? Couldn't that...work? I mean, um, people come from all over the world; no matter when it's set up someone's going to be disadvantaged.....so why not now? Clearly Joel's got some other things to do during the day....as it's his idea, he kind of *should* get dibs, but, um, if we all remain flexible I don't see the harm in making *this* the sign up thread....no?

Should I change the thread title to "Semi-official 'dibs' thread for Chopin Nocturne Recital" or would that be stepping on Joel's (or anyone else who would like to play but has better things to do than sit at the computer's) toes?

shocked Wow.....I was just asking....hypothetically....then let loose the dogs of heck. Um...Op. 15 No. 3 I'll take on the proviso that nobody else wants it. Please bear in mind, Joel could come flying in and cast this all aside...I just thought it might be a good idea to let some of the water out before the pipes burst....? laugh Brad...I mean, technically it's unofficial...but then surely that's what semi-official kind of means? smile Um...I think it's a good idea.

Hi
I consulted with my teacher if I should do Op 27#2. She said not for a forum recital or anything with strict deadline. She suggested I should take either Op 37#1 or Op 15#3. So I take my earlier unofficial claim on Op27#2.

FSO, is it possible to trade with me your claim of 15#3 with my recent claim of 27#2 since you are clearly much better than me? Op37#1 has been performed by Carey so excellently that I would rather not to do it at this time.

If its not possible can I have Op9#1?

Guys...please don't complicate things. I don't want two threads worth of "dibs" floating around. I'm going to lock this so we have only one official thread from the organizer.

Thanks.
