Text Appearing Centered To You?

I've had a few people mention they are seeing posts with all the text centered.
It appears to have started after one of our recent upgrades.

If you are still having this issue, please let me know the following about your computer setup.

Version of IE (found under Tools/ About Internet Explorer)

Operating System (on most Windows machines, click the start button, mouse over where it says Computer,
right click on the word Computer and choose Properties).

Or, if you have a My Computer icon on your desktop, right click on that and choose properties.

This will the developers figure out where the problem is, and hopefully come up with a solution.

By the way, this doesn't seem to be an issue in Firefox.

Hi Frank,

Yep, the thread text is centered. Currently I'm using:

Windows 7

IE 10

Thanks!

Hi Frank,

Yes, IE 8 and XP is the winning combination for me also.

I'm on IE 8.0.6001.18702 and its XP SP 3 Build 2600 5.1.2600 if this detail helps the developers.

Thanks for taking the trouble to progress.

Update - I just upgraded to IE 11 and the text is still centered.

May I add another problem which precedes the recent update?

About 50% of the time, the text will widen out and exceeds the size of the screen.
This can happen in text only threads and without oversize photos. It's a different issue.

Sometimes it can be fixed by going back to the forum thread list and reloading that particular thread/topic.
Sometimes it takes several tries.
However, the offending thread can be viewed in its normal format by reloading the site address in the search window.
It will also return to the exact spot in the thread where you left off.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone, keep the reports coming.

In my case it's
IE 9.0.8112
Windows Ultimate SP2

I usually use Firefox which doesn't seem to have this issue.

Interesting one about the text Marty.

Frank,

There's a mismatched <center> tag in the page header. Just add a </center> tag, and the page should fix itself.

Code
<center>
<font size="+1">Welcome to the Piano World Piano Forums</font>

<br>Over 2 million posts about pianos, digital pianos, and all types of keyboard instruments

Since we're on the topic of bugs, are there any plans to deal with the character coding issue
("Bösendorfer" / "Bösendorfer")? The page header says ISO-8859-1, but the body contains UTF-8 text.
Code
	<meta charset="iso-8859-1" />

(Edit: Looks like the coding issue only affects old posts, signatures, and quoted posts.
The character coding in freshly keyboarded text is ISO-8859-1. Seems like we inadvertently changed encoding?)

Good catch Voltara,

You were right about the </center> closing tag.
Looks like the issue was caused by our in-house programmer (that would be me).

And yes, the encoding has had some issues.
I usually pay someone from the UBB coders to perform the upgrades as they are much
more familiar with the code than me. I think they sometimes forget to check the encoding settings.
