Can I be excused for 5-12 July inclusive please, on holidays in France with the family a long way from any pianos!
I was very pleased to pass the half way mark on 30 June without falling off the wagon, the only missed days have been excused travel days. Now for the second half...

Thanks for the booster (although I'm sure I needed more of a kick in the pants!). I figured I would fall off for a stupid reason like forgetting rather than something legitimate laugh

In NYC for business meetings all week. Today and tomorrow I have some white space on my calendar, so I made it this morning to a spot offering rental practice rooms/pianos close to my hotel, and I'll go there tomorrow too. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are lost causes, though.

Back on the wagon Saturday!

Hi, havent been on the forum in a while. Been very busy. Have been working as a consultant and my commute everyday IS AT LEAST 3.5 hours this has put a lot of drain on my energy there has been days where I just could not sit at the piano and do anything constructive.

However....in the car during commute time, I have been very creative on using the time for my welfare. Been investing time in a variety of things. One which have been trying to do exercises for my hand like the method where you play thirds back and forth from 13 to 24 to 35 and back.
I would do that for a good 20 minutes straight or so.

So basically, I think I should be still be qualified for moyd continuously.

Wimpiano - hope you had a great holiday!
Clsslib - excused for work travel

Briansaddleback......I'm sorry , but MOYD is "getting to the piano" not doing alternative exercises: they don't count for MOYD. When you're done with this project you can just "'fess up" to "various days between x and y 2014.

My sister arrived on Sunday, and on Monday I honestly don't remember if I got time on for a moment or not ..I may have had a moment with the headphones but - it was a flurry of activity - I may have fallen off the wagon! I was in a bit of a tizzy as it is the first time she's been to my home in Italy! smile

On Tuesday we left for 3 days. I managed to play in the morning before leaving and the evening when we got home so only lost 1 day... I've marked myself off for the Monday too.....(It would have been back on the wagon and then back to the excused list... so I'm where I should be anyway).

OK, then you will have to chalk me up for (let say, a ballpark figure) about 20-25 days of not touching the piano since I signed up I believe in March.

Believe me, those days I really wanted to play the piano (I mean I drool every time I see it) but I cant because of my physical condition.

My practice is such a part of my morning routine that a day doesn't feel right without it but some days there are no pianos in sight.

Our trip to the mountains for the dog show was a great success. Our German Shepherd girl, Mystique, took Best of Breed both Saturday and Sunday. She was also 4th in the herding group on Saturday (her first group placement). Lot's of work and still fun with my daughter who is now handling her own dog.

On Thursday I'm flying to Seattle with my sister to see our other sister and attend our niece's wedding. Some much needed sister time. Please mark me excused for July 25-27.

My father passed away last week. I've managed to play piano every day except yesterday I just couldn't do it. He meant a lot to me musically - he was a singer and a lover of all kinds of music, so I can't play anything now that doesn't remind me of him. Soon I hope this will be a positive memory for me, but for now it's difficult. I'll try to play today.

Mark me as excused for Sat. July 19 Cheryl. I was a bit overly zealous during a kayak trip Friday and my arms/shoulders are wrecked even today. I did get back to the bench yesterday although very briefly. Today hasn't happened yet laugh. I sometimes forget I'm not 30 anymore. ha

My sincere condolences Morodiene. In time I hope you will want to play the ones that remind you of him.

It's why I love the music that I love. It reminds me of Mom.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I've been so worried about my mom going through this that I haven't really been allowing myself to grieve over losing my father. Now that I'm back home that process is beginning, but it will take a while before I can sing again. I can play piano, although it's just going through the motions. At least when I'm playing I'm not hearing him sing. Both my sister and I are singers and neither of us can make it through a song right now.

I have an arrangement of How Great Thou Art by Mark Hayes for solo piano that is absolutely gorgeous. Dad loved that hymn, and when I can I plan to record that for him.

It's been a busy couple of work weeks. More travel today -- Kansas City, where it's beastly hot. But everything's up to date here!

Back on the wagon Thursday -- maybe even tomorrow night.

Thanks, barbaram and AimeeO. smile

I will be out of town this weekend, but I should only have to miss piano on Saturday 7/26 unless my brother in law happens to have one (highly doubtful). I'll play before we leave tomorrow and hopefully arrive on Sunday evening with a moment to play.

Had a good saturday of practicing. Spent the entire waking hours almost besides doing whatever chores and making dinner. A good 10 hours. Was very very fatigued but it was worthwhile.
