So I own a couple of good table stands that fold up, but I'd like to have a nicer wooden cabinet type stand for the VPC1 for use when it's not traveling.

It doesn't seem like Kawai has built anything that you can buy as an accessory, so is there one out there that would work?

I found this one for Yamaha, but it may not be deep enough:

That stand is for P-155, I doubt it would fit for VPC1. It looks similar to DGX640 stand and it worked properly only when it was connected to DP with screws. There are nice universal stands available. Just don't go for X stand, those are terrible.

Like what? I'm not finding any that are wood, only metal.

The double braced X stands are far better than the single-braced ones - and there are also metal Z stands that are quite sturdy. You might want to PM Dire Tonic to see what he uses for his new VPC1.

There's also this style stand ...which I'd probably would've bought if I went for the VCP-1 instead of the CA65.

Ya, I have a similar metal stand, was looking for a nicer furniture-type, and I'd use the other for travel.

With all these threads about using old grand pianos and making a grand piano frame for digitals, I think that is a project in the near future smile.

In this thread from a while back a Kawai MP10 owner had a friend build a beautiful wood stand from his drawings:

Wow, that's nice! I'm just really surprised it's not offered with the VPC1. It doesn't strike me as a "gigging" DP where such a thing would be not needed. But maybe they figured any piano nut who'd buy it would also be nutty enough to make their own. wink
