Have an audition in April for DIT conservatory of music and drama (Ireland) and need two contrasting pieces of grade 8 standard or higher.I have already chosen Beethoven sonata no.27 op.90 2nd movement which i can play already and thinking of doing each prelude op.3 no 2 in c sharp minor.

Do you pianists think these would be good enough ?? Thinking of learning Bach French suite no 4 (air) as an alternative to Rach, yeno to show two different styles of music ?

Any advice would be much appreciated!:)
Chopin Nocturne Op.9 No.1 in B flat Major
Chopin Waltz Op.18 in E flat Major
Beethoven Sonata No.27 in E Minor Op.90 1st Mov.

Listened to a couple of your videos. That Air would be a good choice, I think it would build on your strengths.

The best possible thing you SHOULD do is contact whoever you can at the conservatory and get their opinion about repertoire. Call or email the admissions office and get whatever info you can. If possible contact the piano faculty who audition. If possible, take a lesson from one of the piano teachers at the conservatory. This sort of question about repertoire probably comes up all the time and they're probably all used to answering to it and speaking about it.
