Thanks for the offer. I'm going to play through the waltz this afternoon to get an idea if I'll be able to play it. I have to admit that this is one of the waltzes I fear the most, and possibly I'm going to choose Op 70/2 (kindly offered by Carey) instead. Whatever will be my choice I'll give you feedback no later than tomorrow.

Just retired. Tickled to be on the roster, but I should have picked an unfamiliar nocturne. Love to learn a waltz and have time enough to do it ...(wouldn't want to let Artur get it...)

Having to choose between op 34/1 and 70/2 puts me in the common dilemma. Should I aim for a difficult and "impressive" piece that I'm uncertain if I can play or a simple one that I'm sure I'll be able to do reasonably well?

The learning from the Mazurka recital is that I should choose the simple one. I was really thrilled by some of the performances of relatively simple Mazurkas, and therefore I think that the wise choice is Op. 70/2.

The Grande Valse Brilliante (34/1) is an awesome piece of course, and after playing through it I thought that I should perhaps study it on a later occasion. I'm presently hung up with some pretty hard Tchaikovsky pieces, a Beethoven sonata and a Faure imptomptu which I want to prioritise now.

So I'll sign up for Op.70/2. I'm sure that op.34/1 is in good hands.

No thanks. This recital is being organized by JoelW. If he's unwilling to curate the list, then I guess people can just handle things themselves.

By the way Kreisler, I had no intention of just passing all of the responsibility onto you. When I posted that, only one or two people had asked for a change of plans. I thought it would've been fair for those two people to just send their request to you so that you could update the final, remaining list (since the other lists got deleted). I had no idea how many people would actually end up requesting changes, so I we just agreed to give them control. I think they only needed an organizer during the chaotic moments. I still will be hosting the event though, so everyone still needs to submit their recordings to me.

You are not doing very well with the responsibility of running this recital.

Well, I have never run a recital like this, but it has to be expected that changes will happen - at least that is what I've noticed in the past. I think it's fine letting participants update as they need to, however. This works well in the ABF recitals I've participated in.

I think the crowd-sourcing might work out just fine. Right now, all we're talking about is curating the participant list. As long as everyone understands that the most recently-posted list is the correct one, we're in good shape.
