That's great UKIkarus!

I got a message from the Embassy that our new passports are ready too - mind you, we're already booked smile In our case it was a simple renewal.

Canada now has an option for 10 year passports (instead of just five) so we took that option - I won't have to think about it again for a long time!

Hello EPP members!
I'm glad you are having all the stuff ready in time to travel to Lisbon next July. That's great! I'm also doing the ending contacts with the restaurant regarding with some details about our party. I'll inform you soon about all the details.

Plus, I'm going to search for some travel options inside Lisbon. I know there are some special tickets to tourists but, sincerely, I don't know the prices or details.

But, my post is to proudly announce that Greener wants to come to our EPP2014 in Lisbon!!! And the chances are very high: "Hi Carlos. Just a quick note to advise that the EPP is very much on my radar.(...)".

And the same notice for those who are in the "confirmed list": let me know as soon as possible if you changed your mind about your participation in EPP2014. Thanks.

Here is the updated list:

Thank you, Carlos. I'll just say I am going to do my best. This is a Sales target for me, at work now. Plus Johnny (work colleague) is aware of it and quite vocal about it ... find me a Forensics Accountant with a CBV/CA/DIFA and a book of business and I'll charter you a learjet to Lisbon ... says Johnny laugh

Kidding aside, I really would like to come. As I was explaining to Carlos, I have never been to Europe in my life. So, what could be a better time or way to start, then by following my passion.

Plus, everyone in my sales office are going all over the world ... accept me. And whether they get the deals or not it seems.

If I get the deals I'm hoping for in May ... I'll be coming. If I don't get the deals, I may still come as a trip like this is long overdue.

I will confirm with you all either way by the end of May. I have passport, can travel and have been pricing things out. Though I'd be happy to pitch a tent on the Beach, I think I will probably need to splurge for more.

Thank you for making room for me ... I will be trying hard for this and will keep you posted. Now, back to work ...

Jeff

No need to be jealous, Cathy ... just start thinking about packing your bags. Its not too late.

It is looking like the flight will be a big part of the expense for me. Accommodation is looking quite reasonable and still lots available.

The more I look at this the more likely it is becoming.

All booked smile (due to the time of the passport and a few hiccups) I'll be staying at ibis Lisboa Liberdade as suggested by Carlos.

If anything changes I'll let you know.

Now to find something I can play and bring with me >.< thinking about it gives me butterflies!

Yes, it would. I'll be thinking of you guys. (But it's beyond my budget at minute). A little jealousy won't hurt me smile

Hello,
Our party is precisely within two months: 5 July!!! So it is time to do a check of all confirmations.

Ganddalf, Paperclip, Saranoya and Nikolas: I don't know if you've already booked a hotel or plane, but don't forget that you should start thinking about that, as soon as possible.

Again, If you are in the "confirmed list", I'll assume that you'll come to Lisbon in July. Let me know if you changed your mind, please.

Thanks!

I took a long time deciding this because I really, really, really wanted to come. But take me off the list, please. For a variety of reasons, I cannot do this trip, this summer.

I am sorry! Have fun, though! I'm hoping for lots of pictures, afterwards!

Hi Carlos,
Could you please move me to the CONFIRMED list yippie .

Flight is booked, and I WILL be in attendance grin .

I will be flying overnight on the Monday prior. A bit earlier then I was targeting, but works out OK for my overall Portugal itinerary (heading to southern Portugal for a few days post piano party and flying back on the 13th) and the price was better.

I am very excited to be coming and visiting Portugal, Lisbon and meeting you all first hand. Thank you very much for having me.

I will now work out my accommodation details this week and will advise of same once I have them.

yippie

@Saranoya - I'm so sorry you won't be joining us. I know how much you wanted to make the trip - (and how much I was looking forward to seeing you again)..... I hope it works out for the next time.

@Greener: That's super! How neat that someone from Canada is able to make it to the EPP! Looking forward to meeting you!

@Saranoya, sorry to hear that you won't come to Lisbon. I wouldn't mind to flight from Brussel to escort.

@Greener, wow, that's great!

I will book the flights at the end of may when I get my vacation pay. I would have done it earlier, but my glasses broke. Two weeks ago I had my eyes lasered. Which is quite expensive, but in the long run cheaper than glasses.

That lasering was funny though. They cut a layer of they eye and whip it away. Laser it, sprinkle with water and clean it with a tool. The doctor said: please, relax, otherwise it will hurt.

So it was very uncomfortable. Because I had the urge to blink my eye due a tool in my eye. Do people exists who can relax at that time? At all?

Anyway, my eyes are recovering good. I'm looking forward to meet you all at the EEP.

Saranoya, I'm sorry you decided not to come to EPP after you organized the first one meeting last year. I hope to meet you next year!

Greener, great that you are coming! We can consider you our special guest from oversea smile

Maybe it's time to declare my piece: it's going to be Mozart' Fantasy in D minor; I'm preparing it for the recital (again this year, only adult between children and teens) so it's a simple choice!

Greener, I cannot say I have ever spoken to yourself as of yet. I look forward to meeting you all the same.

@Greener - yippie It's a pleasure to move you to the "confirmed list"!!!! I think your decision switches the "European Piano Party" to "Intercontinental Piano Party". Welcome!

@torquenale - Looking forward to listen you Mozart!

So, at this point, the lists are:

@Paperclip - that sounds like a really horrible experience - I couldn't do it! (I was supposed to have laser surgery to fix a retina once but I fainted and I ended up having to have traditional surgery!) - I hope you heal up and recover from the trauma very quickly !

Carlos, I am having second thoughts about the Clementi..... It may come off my list.

Duets are being prepared!

OK, I was helping Greener choosing an hotel.

It seems that some of them don't have rooms available during the week of our party. Lisbon is a city with many tourists in the summer, so you should pay attention to this if you haven't booked the hotel yet.
Hotels with the best relation quality/price/location are the first to run out of available rooms.

Thank you all! Though it's not a very big deal, because I already worked the day after they lasered me. Now the only inconvenience is that I can't rub my eyes for two weeks.

Good luck booking!

This will be very handy. Thank you, Carlos for this link.

Things are proceeding nicely ... I'll be at the Sana Rex while in Lisbon which is quite close to the Ibis Libertade (was full for all the dates I requested.) I just have a few minor details yet to work out, but otherwise in good shape with all the essential items in place.

With nervous excitement I've been thinking of what to present. I've decided on:

Chorale from Cantata 147 (Bach/Hess) - I'll have some fixing to do with it, but it is otherwise reasonably fresh and I will be excited to see how it works out on a grand smile.
