I just purchased new Estonia L190 and would like to find out more information about my piano.

I tried to email info@estoniapiano.ee and LaulEstoniapiano@aol.com So far I have no respond for couple days from those two emails. Can someone please advise me if the email address is correct. If not, please provide me the correct email. I live in US. Is there a phone number for US contact?

Thank you very much in advance.

As far as I know, the email is correct. I e-mailed them a couple a days ago and got a response within 2 days…
When you bought your piano new, didn't the dealer give you any info on the piano? Brochures, etc?
By the way, what are your first impressions? I might be buying an older one and am very much interested in any experiences!

Regards!
Benoit

I don't play piano but my kids does. I am trying to learn it this year smile

In term of piano, it is very good quality and reasonable price. The tone is unique and I also notice the dynamic can play to very soft or very loud.

Thank you ChatNoir for the contact number. I was able to speak to Dr. Laul in person. I also gave my suggestion on key cover. It is nice to have key cover with Estonia logo on it so that consumer can be proud of the Estonia product they purchased.

Anybody wishing to contact Estonia can do this quickly via their brand new, highly informative website.

http://www.estoniapiano.com/contact.html

For those interested the piano's history and its unique sound quality, Dr.Laul dedicated a whole chapter to this.
[Just scroll down on home page to: "The Estonia Sound"]

http://www.estoniapiano.com/index.html

Unique and very interesting.

"Interesting" of course only for those who "are" - apologies to all others.

P.S. Would be nice if others would also talk about their ideal tone and what exactly they are doing getting there...

I played an Estonia for the first time two months ago (7'4") and was immediately impressed with its warm, gracious sound. It was used, selling for $28,000, and would have bought it on the spot if it would fit into my building (the peculiarity of my building is that nothing over 6'11" will pass a turn in the staircase and a crane cannot lift clear over the building to the back where I live). But I am certainly keeping my eye out for a used Estonia 190 or 210.

Regards,

Jonathan

It's nice you liked the piano but will have to confirm that actual dealer cost today is considerably higher for a 7'4 Estonia.
In fact, prices just went up for 2014 again...sigh

I highly doubt it was the authorized New York Estonia dealer offering it - what would be the point? Selling less than cost?

In fact today learned of a 6'10 model which just sold for more than twice that.

No offense I hope...

Hello Norbert -

I have a question and I am sure you have better inside information on the matter - I notice that when I visit the Estonia website they state that the current 190 has a Renner action. That is a big plus to me - but as my budget requires that I look for a used Estonia, I was wondering if Renner was used in Estonias during the past decade as well, or is that a recent change?

Jonathan:

Just look behind fallboard, RENNER label should be visible on hammer rail: use of small light could be helpful..

Good luck

Sorry for budding into this discussion between you and Norbert, but just by chance I came across an Estonia L168 from 1997 (so that would be after Laul acquired the company) and it came with a Renner action, Röslau strings and a certified sounding board). Hope this helps!

Cheers!

Thank you for the feedback. I am just beginning a search. Naturally it is not mandated that my piano be an Estonia, but the one example I played made a very positive impression, and since it appears that a Bosendorfer is not in my budget, it looks like an Estonia may be within my reach.
