If you had the opportunity to meet your favourite pianist, what would you say to them. Would you ask them to listen to you play or would that be innapproriate? After all, they are famous professionals and do not have time to listen to a mere ameater

That's easy -- I don't ask ANYONE, much less an accomplished pianist, to listen to me play.

I would lavish praise.
No *way* would I want to play in front of them. I find it hard enough to play in front of people who can't critique me!

"Mr. Evans, can you show me how you started improvising by demonstrating? " (I would then sit silently and listen, taking it all in, wiping my tears away!). If time would permit, I would ask if I could play the Jazz Waltz I wrote for him.

"Her Von Beethoven, would you please discuss your creative process by demonstrating with The Pathetique?'

"Mr. Gershwin, your music has had a major influence in my life musically and otherwise. Would you discuss who your influences were? Was Rhapsody in Blue originally a piano solo? Which is your one favorite song (if you only have one) that you wrote with your Brother Ira? Was it as important to you to be lauded as a "serious"composer, as you had already achieved legendary status as a Songwriter/Composer
on Broadway? Would you please play a medley of "Porgy and Bess"?

Thank you for this thread. When the time comes, We will all be able to visit with them and ask more. This is my belief. It was nice to take the time to give it thought and voice.

Have a great day!

Mr. Liszt, would you please speak English???
Every day we are afforded a new chance. The problem with life is not that you run out of chances. In the end, what you run out of are days.

I would rather ask him/her to play. What's the benefit of this person hearing my honky tonk skills.. I think we would both benefit from his/her fantastic playing smile

Mr Bach, get a life, go see a movie or something......and stop having so many kids. Give the other composers a chance.
If this life is a simulation can I not be in the easy version where Bach was a drummer
