Are you sure you meant "Waltz in Flat" instead of "Waltz in F"? crazy

Yes, I can see that. Are you sure that's what you meant to call it?

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am now going to perform for you a Waltz in Flat One of my own composition. Don't ask what the title means, because I'm not sure myself." grin

The title of the piece could be Waltz. But ive composed quite a few waltzes.
I could call it Waltz in F - or Waltz opus ? but that doesn't seem right.
But as it is a Jazzy tune Ive called it Waltz in Flat 1.
My freind lives in Flat 1 (here in England Flat 1 means Apartment 1)
He likes to waltz.
But either way I couldn't care what it's title is. Just as long as when someone says play ----- I know what they mean.
Call it what you like.

Oh, I see. I thought it was some kind of a joke about F having 1 flat. I'm glad it wasn't. grin

Good Lord, I cannot understand why some folks insist on commenting about the name of a piece when the piece itself is this good!

So let me be the first to say I loved it! I loved the interesting and piquant harmonies, the structure surprised me (and that's usually a good thing) it's well balanced. You do a nice job of using your theme in a different way in the middle section so that it's beautifully unified and yet the middle part sounds different and fresh. The performance is also rich in expression. I can't find anything to fault. Kudos! I hope your friend appreciates the beautiful music you've composed for them.

Thanks guys:-)

I'm happy that the title didn't disturb you too much.
Better than the title of one of my compositions that I posted called "music to help you commit suicide".

Polyhonist - it also is a joke, F having one flat.
I wouldn't want to compose a piece for my friend who lives in flat one with a piece in 2 sharps or flats or even more.
