Realistically, when will the MP11 be announced and when will it be for sale?

"Realistically" the only person here who may actually know the answer is not at liberty to share it with us - at least not yet.

You can always make an educated guess - Musikmesse is in 5-6 weeks. It's Europe's largest music trade show and gets 70,000+ visitors. A good place to show off new instruments, I'd think.

Or maybe it will be released independent of a trade show. Who knows?

Since people are speculating, I'll go with Wednesday, April 23rd 2014 at 2:23 PM GMT.

Anyone who follows product releases, which are usually timed to garner maximum exposure. smile That's why pretty much all digital pianos are introduced at one of the two yearly NAMM events or at Musikmesse.

Yamaha CP4 wasn't, and I think some other manufacturers are choosing not to be lumped in.

Besides, we all know that the MP11 is being held hostage by the Sasquatch and until HE decides to release it, it's not seeing the light of day.

That's why I said "pretty much all" not "all." CP4 wasn't ready for Summer NAMM but it was going to be sold for Xmas 2013 so they announced it when they could, while announcing the DGX650 at Summer NAMM.

It's not called "lumping in" when you've got music press from around the world gathered alongside 70,000 potential customers. It's called smart marketing, and it's why pretty much all digital pianos are announced at or just in time for the NAMMS or Musikmesse.

This is certainly a possibility, but if Kawai could get its act together by the Septanuary before I would think they would want to, of course, take advantage of the more favorable position of Saturn in its orbital relationship to Mercury.

Good guess, though...

Ahem, one of the advantages of getting an MPxx over a VPC1 is that there are Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels on board. Perhaps worth waiting for the latest and greatest. Just trying to get things back on track...

Ahem, since the OP's question was about when the MPxx is going to be released and available, speculation in this regard (no matter how fanciful or ludicrous) is actually more "on track" than comparisons between models...

... But I agree with you. Kawai's decision to omit even the most basic MIDI controller functions on the VPC1 in favor of aesthetic faux piano realism is puzzling, and if the MP11 does offer similar tri-sensor action in a full-blown DP, it might well be worth whatever extra $$$ it costs.

Meh. I'll trade my MP8 with its sweet pitch and mod wheels to anyone who will give me a VPC1 for it. All they do for me is take up space.

I wonder why it is sold in Italy and not in the rest of Europe.
Anyway I'm sure it will not be avaiable in Argentina, so I don't care, but I'm curious about user demos and reviews.

Let's hope that the MP11-carrying Yeti loses his way not only to Italy, but also to Argentina grin

Oh, if he loses his way and reaches Argentina border, he will be asked to pay so many taxes that he will not have this kind of distraction anymore in his whole life shocked
