In other words , what do you find interesting in current music, bands, ensembles...
Always interested to hear new (to me) good music and composition, pop, alternative, or otherwise.

Eh?

Does this belong in the non-classical forum as opposed to the composer's lounge?

At any rate... A band I highly recommend is Kaddisfly.

Their most recent album (hardly recent anymore) is on YouTube in full.

There's the link.

Thanks for your response and link stalefleas.
Why would this belong in the non-classical forum? There isn't anything that infers this composers forum is for classical music.
I welcomed any compositions, in any genre.

I've enjoyed listening to several pieces of this band the past while.... 'The National'
Here's one sample:

Well, to me, the very existence of the non-classical forum kind of suggests that's where the non-classical stuff goes. It's the same deal with "Pianist Corner", which doesn't have a name that comes right out and says it is meant for classical pianists, but, in fact, that's what it is.

Well, because you're asking about musical interests from any genre. Usually the composer's lounge involves people posting their compositions or asking advice for things related to how to compose, etc. It's not that the composer's lounge is strictly classical (though to some extent I think there is a classical bent... hence the term "composer" and not "songwriter") but that it involves people sharing what they've written and talking about writing more generally.

Either way I have no issue with this being posted here, I just thought maybe your thread would get more replies if it were in the other forum.

Possibly the most beautiful (if you're into that) music I've heard is by Secret Garden. Mostly instrumental works of art, but some vocal pieces too... (famously You Raise Me Up)

It is awhile since I visited this thread. Thanks for the responses.
This is a great piece by Radiohead, interpreted by Anderson and Roe on piano.

p.s. - life is to short to be overly concerned whether the correct category is the composers forum , or the non-classical forum.
Simply asking for compositions you find interesting.

A user posts a question, then starts answering their own question, and is now carrying on a conversation with nobody.
