Ok so I've been practicing this piece carefully and I can now play through it several times without fatigue. However, I cannot shake off the recording jitters that cause me to make stupid mistakes that I never make during regular playing. Regardless, here is a new recording and I would appreciate some feedback.

Also here's an old "revision" video i made along with my first recording. the only real relevant part is at the 1:00 mark. I messed up bad in the above recording, but here is a better run through the Maestoso section.

Well I'm glad you had a listen, thank you for responding. I'm really trying to get some honest feedback here, but it seems everyone is too busy debating over BachMach2's playing...

I followed your original progress thread and posted on your first recording video.

I gave this one a listen, even though this piece doesn't do much for me, because I know how much work you put into it and how hard it is to get responses here.

The technique is good to my ears, but musically there isn't much energy. It might just be the sound or expressive capabilities of your digital.

Is there any way you could make the next recording on an acoustic?

Still, congratulations on getting through this very, very dense piece (I say "getting through" because all the scales, octaves, and tremolo look dreadful on the page!).

Beethoven - Op.49 No.1 (sonata 19)
Czerny - Op.299 Nos. 5,7 (School of Velocity)
Liszt - S.172 No.2 (Consolation No.2)

Dream piece:

Wow, thank you. Yes the music does look absolutely dreadful on paper, but like difficult pieces so it's fun for me. Also you are right, and I did mention it in another thread I made, this piece demands too much from my digital.

Unfortunately, I don't have any place where I can "comfortably" set up a recording session with an acoustic. What I mean with that is that I would need a very laid back and casual setting to record myself. Sure I could rent a practice room, but I may not be able to get a good recording in the allotted time, or the room may not be good for recording. I will certainly try, I've been planning to do so, but it may be a lot of work to find a good room and be able to set up my camcorder, PCM recorder, tripods, and laptop. Then I would have to do test runs and playback to make sure it sounds good.

This might be too much to do in too little time with a practice room.
