Acceptance of applications for III International Festival of Classical Music and Competition for Young Pianists “Astana Piano Passion” begins.
On December 1, 2014, the organizing committee started accepting applications for the III International festival of classical music and competition for young pianists “Astana Piano Passion” that will take place from April 24th through May 2nd, year 2015. The day before the Competition Provision specifying details of participation conditions became available on the official web site. No dramatic changes were made for the III competition except for the dates of the competition semifinal and final.
“Astana Piano Passion” organizers are Astana city administration and “Accordi di Astana” social fund. The competition Artistic Director and an Honored Chairman of the Jury – Denis Matsuev, People’s Artist of Russia.
In his Address to the people of Kazakhstan, the President Nursultan Nazarbayev said: “… new impulse should be given for all-Kazakhstani cultural development”. The festival of classical music makes concerts of world-known pianists available for every Kazakh citizen and the competition for young pianists raises new talents of our country and encourages young generation study music.http://astana-app.kz/en/
The competition goal is to find new talents, strengthen the national piano school traditions and international exchange of piano performance techniques; professional development of piano divisions at children’s music schools, promotion of classical music amongst young generation and also support of young talented pianists of Kazakhstan at the early stage of the their career.
A recognized jury will include world-known pianists, producers of prestigious international competitions. Age restrictions for participants is 18. Total prize fund – 60,000 USD. Participation in the competition is free of charge, besides, all travel and accommodation costs in Astana for each participant and one accompanying person will be at the expense of the Organizing Committee. There are two special awards from Astana city akim, special awards from the festival Artistic Director – participation in international festivals “Crescendo”, “Annecy Classic” and “Stars on Baikal”; trip to Suzdal summer camp and also an award for the best performance of a Kazakh music piece. There are also awards for teachers whose students become competition laureates.
A special committee will hold a selection round from March 1-20, 2015. By its results the names of competition participants will be announced. Only 30 pianists will be admitted to the competition semifinal.
