Here are 4 tunes that are easy to learn and popular with listeners:

Moondance (Van Morrison)
House of the Rising Sun (The Animals)
So What (Miles Davis)
Summertime (played a la Miles Davis/Gil Evans)

2 of my favorites that are more complex are:

Human Nature (Michael Jackson)
Killing Me Softly (Roberta Flack)

I really enjoy playing these songs and have found that they make up a good set list for both background music gigs and concerts.
