It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
I just ran into Howard Goodalls who has a four part series on "Twentieth Century Greats". Each is almost 50 minutes long. He doesn't just present these musicians. He also explains points of theory behind their music, by extracting those elements and demonstrating them. We have things like harmony, rhythm, and sequences.
I was told years ago that certain "pop" music has great depth and had an influence on the course of music. This is the first time that I have had a chance to really understand what was meant.
I've noticed that Goodalls has other series on music.
