Might be travelling soon.
If i wanted to purchase a Kawai VPC keyboard and bring it to Trinidad via luggage on an airplane..
Would a hardshell case protect it?
or is it too risky and I should just pay the duties and tax and ship the thing via sea freight? .
Wouldn't wanna spend too much on a case either otherwise that cancels out the whole point of bringing it in via airplane.

I don't think its feasible to treat the VPC1 as a portable keyboard. Your best bet is to ship it.

An option would be to save the box and build a crate. I have shipped stuff this way before (a very delicate 6 foot model airplane). I basically built a frame out of 1x2 "strapping" secured a big cardboard box to the inside of it. This might not be the best style crate but it is an example. Often shipping companies will work with the airlines and get in on a commercial airplane. In that case I see no difference in bringing it yourself. You would have to pay the large/heavy baggage fees, but if you call ahead the airlines will work with you. A VPC1 in a flight case would be fine, however I expect you'd have to pay extra to bring the flight case as luggage.

Ok... makes sense maybe i just ship the thing... It's disappointing that there are currently no plans for a successor with GF action... A guy from KawaiEurope commented on the MP11 demo vid...

The VPC1 was introduced last year - in many respects its still a new board.

Has it only been one year?... wow... You've got a good point. Pitch an idea at Kawai will u? Force feedbackkkkk.. How cool would it be if the controller had a vibration function built to bring a whole new level of realism to software pianos.

It's always been a major difference between playing a digital piano and playing a software piano... the real piano has so many vibration when you play.. It's like it massages your hands as you play
