I have bought Yamahas keyboards throughout the years since the advent of KX88 for gigging purposes when no acoustical piano sat on the premises. Sometimes, the keyboard made for the only option as the acoustical sounded so badly out of tune that the gig would have gone badly. Last Saturday, while I played my latest keyboard, I gigged alone in a wine shop (shoppe for all the sophisticates out there...put on your postures, folks) and all seemed well. I warmed up my 56 year old hands and led my way through some piano pop, some expectations, a few requests, and suddenly found myself thumping away on a Dixie Land tune, WHEN my keyboard changed voices on me. I thought, I must have hit a button...right? Then again it happened in another intense interpretation. Has this happened to anyone else? And what happened?

Did you have the Panel Lock button on? I've found it's way too easy to brush the first row of voices even when seemingly not doing much at all. And in general the buttons are way sensitive - I've triggered something I didn't want just by having a couple pieces of paper fall across them.

I agree with David Farley. This happened a few times until I decided I better put the Panel Lock button on.

I called Music 6000 from whom I bought the keyboard and they there suggested a factory reset, which I'll do as well as locking the panel with the Panel Lock button. Thanks for the timely reply.
