More about the Artist (from the concert program):
Robin Spielberg is one of America’s most beloved pianist/composers. With an impressive tour schedule and hundreds of thousands of recordings sold, this Steinway Artist has been winning the hearts of listeners around the world with her compelling melodies and sensitive piano technique since debuting her first recording of original solos for piano, Heal of the Hand.

A prolific composer, Spielberg has sixteen recordings to her credit and appears on over 40 compilations around the world. Her discography includes albums of original piano solos, arrangements of American standards, original pieces for piano/ensemble, recordings for the holidays, a CD of Americana melodies, and a CD of lullabies.

Robin is currently on tour with her new memoir, Naked on the Bench: My Adventures in Pianoland (Spobs Music Publications) and performing “book release concerts” which incorporate excerpts from her book within the concert setting. The memoir, which was featured on numerous NPR stations and in book clubs nationwide demystifies the process of building a concert career and tells what is unexpected in the life of a touring musician. "Whimsical and charming, Naked on the Bench reveals that an open heart and sense of humor are essential companions for living life and making art.”–Jenn Gordon, Steinway & Sons, Concert & Artists Dept. The Kirkus Review calls the book
“A well-paced musical memoir about the value of perseverance.” The book has been released in softcover, e-book and audiobook formats, with Spielberg as reader (amazon.com).

Robin, I hope your Wayne appearance goes well. I'm hoping you'll do this in the D.C. area soon!

I just finished your wonderful book. Among the many other gems in it, I was intrigued by your accounts of the similarities between good acting and effectively communicating a song to your musical audience. Very insightful!

Most of all, though, I'd just love to hear you play live. Come see us soon!

Thanks for reading the book; I am so glad you enjoyed it! I hope to play in your area soon; I did perform concerts in Alexandria now and then so maybe I will see you at one of those! Best, Robin
