Off the subject, but....

A few years ago, actually I guess it was a bunch of years ago, on Saturday Night Live, they had a bit featuring two new cast members, basically introducing them -- Bill Hader and Andy Samberg. The bit was sort of a little competition on doing impressions. One of the guys, as it happens, is what most of us would call 'more talented,' but the other is what we might call cuter. Another cast member was sort of the "host," and he said names of people for the two guys to do impressions of. Bill Hader always went first, and did the most perfect impression you could imagine. Then Andy Samberg would go -- all he did every time was just smile, kinda like this ->grin ...and go "Hey wassuuuuuup!" Hader got the applause, Samberg got the laughs. I think we'd have to say "Hey wassup" won the competition. ha

BTW Bill Hader is great -- he's the guy who did "Stefon" among many other things. He left the show last year to do other things and I miss him. But if I run into him, I don't think I'll say "Hey wassup!" grin

in my local street vernacular, we may use a more colloquial version: "yo whaddup dawg" . Either can be appropriate with fist pounding and chest bumping to celebrate the exaltation of personal greeting.

For what it's worth, I don't really mind the informality in OP's writing, but he would probably benefit by using better titles. It took me several glances before I wound up clicking this thread.

I have a feeling you don't know what the word "vernacular" is. Look it up. This was not meant to be a literal analogy, but clearly you missed that.

You could just smirk and then cover the lower half of your face with both hands. grin He did a pretty mean Vincent Price impression as well.
