Hi, I'm new here but have been lurking a few months.

I just took delivery of a new Yamaha p105 DP, set it up to check it and discovered some anomalies: When I play C maj triad, C6, C7, Cmaj7, the C immediately above the chord does not sound. This happens in all octaves of the keyboard. :0

There are some other peculiarities, like not all keys sounding on a single note blues run.

It almost seems like some function-key design but I can't find anything in the manual about it. I did contact the seller and he will look into it.

This sounds like a pretty bad defect doesn't it?

If you haven't tried it already, look for a way to do a factory reset (instruction manual). If you've tried factory reset, bring it back to the store....

Thanks, couldn't find it in the book and googling took me to...the book. I found reset for the p155 and tried it but it did nothing.

Yeah, I just searched (F3) through the P105 manual. Not there. I guess it's time to exercise your return policy.

I did find the process online and it's the same as the p155.

Yeah I have to return this..what a hassle since I bought it through eBay. Seller better send me a return label.

carojm36, yes it's a pain.

Perhaps you can request a full-refund from the eBay seller, then re-purchase the P105 from a reputable online store?

Cheers,
James

The vendor has excellent feedback and has been attentive to this today. I think he'll make it good.

It's just that the symptoms seem so odd, like some peculiar setting that could be canceled, and I thought someone here might be familiar with it.
