Hello everyone

I would like to ask you what romantic work did you use for your dma application. I want to have a general idea about what is played.

Thanks

I played the Liszt Mephisto waltz.

Typically, you'll see things like:

Liszt Operatic Transcriptions, Dante Sonata, Funerailles, etc...
Chopin 4th Ballade, Barcarolle, Fantasy, 2nd or 3rd sonata, Polonaise-Fantasy, one of the larger polonaises (Ab or f#m), etc...
Schumann Fantasy or selections from Op. 16, 9, etc...
Mendelssohn Variations
Brahms Variations
Rachmaninoff Preludes, Etudes, Variations, 2nd sonata, Moments Musicaux, etc...

And it depends on the school. At a major conservatory, the sky's the limit. At a smaller state school, something from Brahms Op. 118 or Mendelssohn Rondo Capriccioso might be acceptable.

Do you happen to have a recording of it that you feel like putting up?
I'd love to hear how you played it. (Because I think I'd like your approach.)

I did Chopin op. 22 (Andante Spianato and Grand Polonaise). Fun, fresh, and beautiful.
