Hey all.

I've played guitar for years, have regular lessons and I have a good understanding of theory and am preparing for my grade 7 in rock guitar.

As I've gotten more into recording I've realised that lots of my songs would be complimented well with some piano or keyboard. So I'm buying a 49 key Akai midi controller and I've got a 76 key keyboard coming in the next couple of days to start with and I want to start learning with some online lessons via a website before I get a teacher.

I'm into blues/jazz/rock type stuff.

Can anyone recommend me a good online (preferably free) online resource to start learning with?

Thanks!

For a Rock Based graded approach using Rock Songs, I would suggest having a look at Chuck Leavell's irocku site. They also give you one complete Song Lesson with all 3 Levels for free (Beginner,Intermediate,Advanced). And rest can be bought as single song lessons.

irocku

Rockschool in UK also provides a Rock Piano syllabus, exams and books.

Again the question is about complementing his guitar skills by learning piano/keyboard.

As far as I know jamplay.com is a guitar site.

I also found the Trinity College Rock & Pop Exams with graded levels up to 8, based directly on published Rock/Pop songs. The Rockschool method used songs written similar to the original songs.
