Overall though compared to Beethoven, Beethoven had a lot more emotional depth than Mozart did.

Oh come on.

I would not say that those are ridiculous. And no they are not generalizations for all music just trends I have noticed when listening to Mozart.

ha

The incomprehension here is an obstacle we are not going to get around, Joel. I would stop trying.

I composed a piece for 10,000 pianos the other day and it is the emotionally deepest piece ever written. How dare you say otherwise.

You're going to have to add 10,000 more pianos in case they have to play the same note at the same time.

Darn, I didn't think of that. And what if the pianist has three hands and all three have to play the same note? That adds another 10,000 pianos. This is more complicated than I thought.

Absolutely brilliant - you must be a genius. How are you going to find 10,000 pianists to play it?

As for it being the "emotionally deepest piece ever written" - only top notch Rachmaninoff concertos get that rare distinction, sorry.

Who exactly are "they" and where is this going to be performed - and, when?

If you can answer the question then I might believe that this isn't just delusions of grandeur.

Who says it needs to be performed? Something this genius isn't subject to the limitations of practicality.

@JoelW,

"I just composed my own piece for one million pianos."

Nice job - as it looks like you are the winner and get to have your cake and eat it, too! thumb

Is it possible that anyone could compose a piece for 10,000 pianos and not have delusions of grandeur?

Extra note:

Perhaps our forum shrink, i.e., Mark_C, could be of some help here and shed some light on the problem?

What problem? An audience seated in and around a cuboid of 20 pianos wide by 20 pianos long by 25 pianos high sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Um...the only problem I perceive is a lack of ambition and vision. 10000 fugues based on the same subject, being played simultaneously, might reverberate quite nicely when at the centre, don't you think?
Xxx
